Well I am a new 240sx owner and I absolutally love the car but I am getting sick of needing help with my car and getting ridiculous posts about random stupid things that have nothing to do with the question im asking or my thread gets hijacked for someone elses amusement. I agree that 240's have become every 16 y/o's wet dream but there are still some of us out there who are old enough to support the car and treat it with the respect it deserves but just need extra support when venturing into unknown waters. Now I agree that pointless threads about what bodykit looks the coolest or ka vs sr get really really old but some of us are new to this and only thing we ask is for the guidence of members that have had their 240's long enough to have maybe encountered some of the same problems that we are experiencing and possibly may be able to help us out in our time of need. In closing I just want to say dont let a couple of acne infested teenagers acting on harmone driven emotions who sole purpose in life is to jump on the latest band wagon to impress their friends ruin this forum for the rest of us. If you see a retarded post then let them know they are idiots and if they do it again ban them thats what moderators are for.

i applaud anyone who buys a 240, as long as it is for non-douchebag-look-at-me-i'm-cool reasons. whether it is hopping on the "bandwagon" or just learning to drive, the 240 is one of the most balanced cars ever built. even with the controversial US powerplant of the KA, it's a car that has just enough power and awesome handling, functionality, and looks for anyone wanting to own a sports car (yes even though it was more of a secretary-mobile its still sporty in stock form). its reliable too.

i dont mind it. the more the merrier, just know that no one gets spoonfed, and doing a little work on your own is always more rewarding. theres always gonna be younger guys doing younger guy stuff...and i dont rule myself out yet, i still do stupid shit...but if we all can learn to hold ourselves to a certain level of maturity, the drama will go away on its own, and we'll bring in more respect and have a tighter knit community.

i'm friendly with just about everyone. i joke with guys i dont even know and i dont mind some small smack talk or jibba jabba now and then. i really would like to see a better community, im always envious of subaru and vw groups.

and have good meets where people show up, and talk to each other.


its always gonna be a bit of a rift being that there are so many subgroups of 240 owners. i mean, how nice is it to have a car that can be setup to do well in autocross, drag, drift, road race, time trial, and street performance??? not many. we just have to accept that people interested in other forms of motorsport still own the same car and often have the same or similar parts...so there is no need to alienate amongst ourselves.

 

I have more then a couple of things planned for my Z in the coming weeks. I was pretty impressed to see people running low 13s with the new VQ (bone stock). Can't wait to see what it will do once I get my twins. Right now i'am in idle because most everything on the 07 Z has been changed around... the Diff pumpkin is not the same, the transmission is different, engine is obviously a huge step up. I just hate posting stuff then having some dumb snot nosed kid tell me my car is heavy ... when their S14 is no lotus elise (~2800 lbs vs ~3100-3200 lbs not that dramatic of a difference if you ask me). It's garbage like that that pisses me off. The last time I recalled the S chassis cars where no record breakers .... The Z32's VG30DETT was outright banned from racing after it won the 24hours of daytona (nissan had to later resort to a n/a vq). The R32 was so dominant it was banned from several racing series (many should know this already). The KPGC10 challenged many porsche's. Countless S30 success's... Even the VG30ET that people here make fun of kicked major ass back in the day. All this doesn't matter because it's not JDM drifting cool.... if people only care about S13's/S14's/S15's because they think of them as the best drift cars ever then they need to keep it in the drifting forum. They kept hijacking , S130, Z32 , Z33, and FWD threads with crap like " FWD sucks!" "FWD SR sucks!" until this forum is in the shape it's in now. All I'am trying to say is their are other nissans then the S chassis (Which is far from the best nissan out their).These are the very same reasons why some people with decent contributions to make don't contribute... because it turns into a stupid argument with all the pre-pubescent 240 kids. For the record most people with these cars that try to drift suck ass... I can't emphasize how many 240sx's i see with pole/tree/curb damage I see when i goto Roy's yard now, I can't emphasize enough how these guys are not enthusiasts and just assholes following the same path paved by their peers like lemmings. For those of you guys that have had your 240 for over 4 years... been around for the first infamous KA vs SR thread, remmber when people where using RWD SR distributors in place of the coil over plug setup because they thought it was totally incompatible with USDM spec schassis cars , and the easiest way to 350whp thread (SR20) and still refer to greddy intake manifolds as footballs... keep rocking on.

dude dont get pissed because someone likes the s15...have you seen the gts-t skylines running around the tampa area...riced out more than most civics...

personally i'd also rather have a S30,Z33,or G35 over any 240(s13, s14, s14a)...and my "dream" nissan is a datsun fairlady 2000...but do i have the money to restore the old ones (my s12 hatch has sat for 10 months with no attention) or buy the new ones...no

now any GT-R is a better choice than the s-15 there is no doubt about it, but how can you compare the IMSA Z32 to the Z's we're used to seeing (usually on bigass chrome wheels and driven by black guys)

240s are a cheap rwd car, thats why most of us have them
