welcome to the dark side.....
Drifting 101-Basics
(This is all IMO and from what I've learned)
First off, when purchasing a 240 you need to make sure it hasn't been molested too much. Lord only knows who/what has been messing around in the engine bay and how they drove it. Try and find a bone stock base model (i.e no power, power=heavier) You also want a dual cam...faster and fun times. I lucked out with my 240, its a virgin and a DOHC AND 5spd....You just gotta be in the right place at the right time!
*I personally think the pig nose looks better (SOHC) and you can put on the sexy lip but we are going for performance.* Make sure its a 5spd and you might want to get an lsd or even go as far as welding your differential. That makes sliding around a little easier than with open diff. You want to put good suspension on your car....ask around to see what is a good start for you. Go to a local shop and see what kind of cheap used coilovers they have to start practicing with.
Now onto actually drifting. Learn the feel of your car...learn to heel toe and clutch kick. Your e-brake can be your best friend or your enemy. You decide. (we get along quite well) Those are just a few things you can do to improve your drifting. oh and LOTS OF TIRES!!!!!!!!!!!
Most importantly have fun. Be safe and think about shit before you do it....just remember...your not in your Honda anymore.
Ok I'm tired and bored now...A.D.D is kicking my ass....goodnight.
PS-RWD FTW

Ronalds car runs pretty good I think. It needs to be one color, but other than that it is straight as shit.I'd keep his suspension, there a great learning how to drift suspension.Yeah welded diff's do help you slide but also chew your tires up just driving around normally,5spd is a plus, but whoever said drifting good with an auto gives you no pride should sky dive without a chute, becuase mikespeed was drifting stock as a rock auto vert one night better than anyone else.Yeah id start out with just practicing donuts and shit,or be smart and go to a sanctioned event where everyone say they will give you tips but just are an asshole to you if your not a nut swinger.
Hooray my car!!!!
and Ronnies car is my old car, regularly maintained, strong motor, and slides very well... Yeah if I was Ronaldeen, I wouldve made all the panels white by now and lined them up a bit better and drop the sides of the damn lip, but thats just me =)

ok ka24e is the single cam motor and the dual cam is the ka24de. unless you are planning on doing a swap i would try to hold out and find a dohc. my expeience has shown the dohc being stronger. the sr motor isnt garbage at all. i prefer the ka over the sr but i have seen many more fast sr's than ka's. Its obvious you are new to the 240 scene but with a little research and some unwanted experience in fixing them you will know what you're talking about soon enough... not to dog on you friends or anything but they dont seem to know what they are talking about saying the sr is garbage and the sohc is better because it doesnt bog down like the dohc..... you should know that is bull
whatever im just rambling on... so my opinion! DOHC>SOHC
