89 240 single cam for drifting
so ive been thinking about trading my teggy for a 240, ive been offered a couple but the one that i personally like happens 2 be a SOHC, the only reason i would get a 240 is 2 try/learn 2 drift. I personally think its fun as hell. Not saying i would succeed but i would try my hardest but my question is a single cam 240 good for drifting.Ive heard SOHC r better because they dont bog like the DOHC, is this true?? lmk please so i can make my decision...Thanx TR
anyway, good drift car needs to be stick, running well, and in one piece. you can do an auto, but its alot like raping a kid with downs syndrome, sure it can be done, but there is no pride in it.
the SOHC should be enough to learn on. sooner or later you're gonna want to go faster. you can get a DOHC and boost it (after rebuild) or swap in a different engine (you'll find that the sr20 is popular)
if you are a fan of single cam, do that. if you like dual cam, do that. don't worry too much about how the body panels are, you're gonna end up hitting something anyway and messing up them up.
you don't have to be fast to drift, however, it does make it much more fun, once you know what you are doing.
i rocked a SOHC witha open dif when i first started learning/drifting and it can easily get sideways bro, good to start and learn with. dont have to worry about hurting it there are parts everywhere and shit. i gave away the SOHC outa my last one lol. gl with it man

dude, don't let anyone knock a single cam. as long as they are in good condition and have had regular maintanence, its strong. They can handle boost, so some research and see for your self, there are plenty of them around. just make sure its a solid motor, and don't over do it.
well i pm'd Ronald and now were talking about a possible trade for his 240, does ne1 know about his car, how it runs and what not. And i kno SR's are very comin but from my 240 friends (not saying there correct) but said there Garbage and if i boosted ne 240 make it a s13 DOHC KADE into a KADE-T. Ive also been told they were the strongest 240's motor built regarding to the s14, now is this tru, an thanx 2 every1 so far keep it coming
KA v. SR is a never ending battle, both have endless amounts of info in very common places, a little searching goes a long way. it comes down to displacement and aluminum v. iron block yada yada yada...
