going to weekend events doesn't mean you are going pro. the reason why i asked is "street" drifting doesn't really give you experience . ATLEAST 9\10 times. some people do. but those same people do every single turn on a daily basis with a driving record full of fines and tickets.

the reason i bring this up is, you are not really going to notice a difference in the way your car is going to "drift" if all you are doing right now is street slides once in a while. drive your car at an event or an auto x, then do thse mods then you will notice a difference.

other than that, with this proposed set up you are trying to do, you can simply just "gas" it more and slide out if u even wanna consider that a technique.

Just my 2 cents, but if im going to go through all the trouble of swapping turbos and etc, i wouldnt go from small to almost as small.
the S15 turbo is a waste of time in my mind, a nice T3/T4 setup is the way to go if you want a fast spool up and better power.
just because its a bigger turbo doesnt mean its going to be TOO laggy.

my turbo is pretty big and i get full boost by 3200rpms, with stock head/cam and etc.
now i have a old straight 6 but it doesnt flow for shit, no were near a SR.

like i said... just my 2 cents.

What turbo are you running? I would say for a drift setup I like the stock mount 2871r, 550's, cams, etc. Usually very good spool, good to around 450.

lol i am not complaining about the stock sr power, its easy as hell to get sideways. i drove a single cam with a open dif, the sr is a blessing. i just want more potiential, and faster for drag type stuff also with out making it harder to drift. hinse the not huge turbo just bigger than stock.
i dont slide every corner but i have spots that i try to hit up for a lil while weekly. thanks for the concern guys

and onthego, sounds awsome, that was what i was hoping to here. plus i just cant afford a 600 turbo. i wanna do this set up right, but i am goin to save when i can.

thanks again guys for the imput

I don't have a 240, but my wife does, she's running a Top mount peak boost manifold with a T3/T4 I had built for the setup we are running. I built quite a few SR's though so I'm very familiar with them.

I've done a couple customers cars with the 2871r setup, but most just opt for a gt28rs. I just sold a new style 2871r to a good friend of mine, he's got a megan racing stock mount exhaust manifold on an S14 and it fit well, nothing sticking out anywhere. Best thing to do is run a 90 degree right off the compressor housing up to where your stock hotpipe would go. It's a tight squeeze to get an intake hose on the turbo inlet as well, but it can be done nicely. The newer style I sell now has a round style inlet instead of the 2 bolt old stock style.

was being slightly sarcastic. but what is your reason for using a sidemount with those kind of upgrades.
