Roll cage owners.
so it seems like lots of people are building their 240's now a days with roll cages. From what i've seen, these are daily drivers. Any particular reason why you are all putting roll cages? Are you expecting to run fast time down the strip, are you trying out for some drift series or road race that requres it? just putting it in because it looks cool? hoping it will stiffen up your chassis like a pro driver? just curious.

I heard that I need a cage to be a professional drifter.
..seriously, I purchased the cage to stiffen the car, and it made a hell of a difference. I could feel my car twist in turns 17 and 1 at Sebring. Now, I feel very little movement. I am going to buy the additonal pieces to make it a 10 point and weld gussets to the A pillars. An added benefit is my car is safer when I am on the track.

from the people that I've talked to in person, it seems to be one of those things that the monkeys saw it, so they do it. it looks cool so they do it. Race cars have them so they must be fast. i've even heard the it makes people take me more seriously when they see it. and it makes them mad jdm tyte pr0 l3v3l dr1ft3r, y0!

and jon, whats with these weird numbers you come up with? everything you say is wrong.
I think the roll cages, when the car is actually once in a while used for going down the strip or drifting or whatever they do its a good idea. Better the driver be safe.
if its a DD that gets no action at all except rush hour traffic.... then its pretty silly to me.
