ls1 and "dumber youth days"
mike quick question
i have access to an ls1 harness (im not sure if you even use it), besides the motorset and custom mounts, what else do you need? if theres any way you could give me maybe a link to a writeup with everything involved that would be great. i cant decide between a ka coupe or ls1 coupe and id like to see how much more the ls1 swap would be.....

wow... good post, I'm impressed.
as for swaps, the ls1 is pretty much the hot swap into any kinda car you can think of. so there are even aftermarket harnesses and stuff to make it cleaner. check out painless wiring.com.
this swap will end up being really eazy and I'm sure xat will be able to handle it. also the ls2 is being put in most everything now, all the part interchange, its just a few more cubes and better flowing heads. makes 400hp stock instead of 300ish for the ls1. so its going to be even easier to get ahold of motors soon.
rep for you mike.
I drove a stock sr swap for the first time, a few weeks ago and got out wondering what all the hype way about. it was pretty weak, even compaired to a good running ka. I'm sure a big turbo and 25lbs would help but why... when it would be cheaper in the long run to just put a v8 in it... and for drifting, turbo lag has to suck ass.
mike, hope you get that thing to FD and kick bills ass with it
show him how something with some hp slides

mike i got a few questions. the LS1 will clear a stock hood and you had to cut the hood only for the magnacharger right? and also i was wondering if your running a standalone in your car. and i still have that fc nardi hub if you still want it, i have to see what my work schedule is this week and i can bring it up to xat for you. lemme know.

that would be a badass swap.
the combs are endless and if you didn't mind the extra weight you could build that 600hp n/a at a 1/4 of the money with a 408 truck block.
oh and they do sell turbo kits for all the cars that these motors came in, so a little fab work and a good shop could pull that off to.
