ls1 and "dumber youth days"
The LS1 is a badass swap, there is no question. Reliability is a huge concern for everyone, especially those making lots of power.
-How many are in this region?
Yours (TX done?), Chin's (mostly independent w/ help from local badasses), that FD RX7 (idk who did that)
-How many of these has XAT completed?
-How long is the downtime?
-Whats all invovled? (tri-fecta of mounts, driveshaft, etc)
This is not intended to be sarcastic or TRamatic. I like XAT alot, they have tons of talent amoung them, and I am looking forward to stopping by the new shop next week. Hell, I bought a S13 coupe from them over 2 years ago.

my car was 1st running ls13, using a "bolt in" kit , but theres a lot of room for improvement with what i have that xat is more than capable of improving on and doing a much better job upon. the people who made the kit promised a lot of easy products, which they then asked me how to do it, and i was like ugh and most of it i didnt knw. i will say when my car arrived at xat a couple months ago and they wanted to help me out finish the season after another shop screwed me over, my car was a peice of shit with a lot of work. in the maybe month ive been there, my car has never ran better.

people have beaten onls1's for over 150k. havent seen much higher because honestly the cars were only released in 97, the highest milage car ive ever seen was 220k, still ran fine. other than that ive only seen like 150k just because they havent had time to put moremiles on it than that.
i have seen a lot more sr's/ka's take a shit than i have ls1's. honestly the only ls1's ive seen fail 1st hand, were bone stock motors with 300 shots and stupid people. and a guy that went 4th to 1st, which was pretty cool, although he only bent pushrods didnt actually total the motor.

the only point of this thread was dont hate, its actually a pretty cool swap if you can get over the whole chevy in a nissan thing.

when i first bought my 240 i wanted to get a ls1 swap. the guy who i bought it from told me about it...props to you dude...i saw that pic of you "el es juan" s13 on VG30es12's myspace...looked pretty badass...hopefully this week i'm gonna get his KA in my s12....

ls 1's are ok in my book if the owner isnt a d*ck i gess we started on the wrong foot i just had happened to be in a very bad mood when u said that and even thow it wasnt a bug deal what u said i didnt think so at the time so i opologise but yes there good in my book but i think from what ive herd there too front heavy not becus of the motor but becus of the bigg tranny now what is your imput on that?
the t56 isnt the lightest thing on earth, but the wieght is low and pretty much towards the middle of the car so it doesnt affect it very badly.
the wieght of the motor is also a good bit lower. the block isnt very tall, the heads weigh next to nothing (not a lot of moving parts) and hte intake manifold is plastic.
