can you give me more information on where this place is? i am supposed to have my exhaust inspected by December 2nd.

i get tickets for my Apex Dual N1. ive been pulled over a handful of times on gandy and i think twice on Sheldon. i learned my lesson not to drive my car out to gandy on saturday nights. last night the cop that was sitting there pulled 4 or 5 imports over and not any of those really loud domestics or even the drag cars that were out there.

once i get money the first thing i am getting is some silencers theyre only like 25 dollars

 

I don't know wether it would work or not but could you wrap your actual exhaust pipes somehow to cut down on some of the noise? And I dunno why but I got the freak apexi n-1 that's not that loud, the exhaust is only loud at all from say 2k-4k rpms and the rest of the time it just humms a little

Let someone drive your car down the street and you listen to it - I'll bet it is louder then you may think, although I could be wrong but I doubt it...

 

I've already tried that, I mean it's not any where as quiet as stock exhaust but it's not as loud as most of the apexi n-1 I've heard

 

I really dont think the apexi n1 is that loud myself until I open it up all the way and my dumptube starts spewing out waste and flames. At least it is real exhaust not modded by cutting off the muffler and adding a baffle tube like the ricers with that throaty loud crap. I have never heard of a chopper getting pulled over before either and those are the worst for noise.

 

Add this to the fact that the 4g63thave a pretty flat exhaust note. I've noticed that most 4g63t dsm's don't sound very loud with aftermarket exhausts. Best sounding modern 4cylinder engine imho.

 

I guess a 240 is a little louder...I had one for my first car and now I'm looking for another

 

Well i haven't had the benefit of having a quiet car as of lately. I've been running a opendownpipe for some time now , my ears buzz whenever i get on the highway. Are you planning on keeping your dsm and buying a 240 , or what is it your are planning to do (sorry to steer off topic here)?.

dude, the cops are just assholes up in tampa/st pete. it sucks and all, but they were all molested as children so they have to take out there agressions on someone. i have the dual N1 and have never been pulled over for my exhaust. they always have other things to worry about when they pull me over. but since most import owners are young the cops target you guys. I've had cops pull me for bogus reason's and since i have a class A CDL i know my rights and the laws. so i just argue with them unitl they admit they were wrong. and if they give me a ticket, i tell them that they must not like they're days off. cause i'm taken them to court. cops are stupid, and when they see your not they tend to stop being dicks. tampa cops like the gay butt sex. no wait, all cops like that.
