Bottom end rebuild...
Does it want to fire at all? You sure you dont have the dist on 180 off or something. I cant think of the exact details right now but i seem to remember something about having the dist on wrong and it was firing on the wrong stroke.
That was when the distributor was off by one tooth and then having to remove the oil pump. I guess we can pull the pump out and make sure it is aligned right. It is suppose to be all at TDC so I don't know. I think it is something electrical. Another attempt to day will be in the works..

Im picking up new wires tonight to rule that out. Might get new plugs also. If that doesnt work. I'll pull the pump out, and move it forward a couple of teeth. See if that helps.
Thanks all, another update tonight. Same bat time....
I'm willing to bet the dist is off 180 or so. It's unlikely that bad wires would cause an engine to not run at all. Same with a bent valve. Got the wires on the coil correct? I've heard putting them on backwards can cause a very weak spark. Got the start signal wire hooked up to the starter(pretty sure you have one)?
Are you getting compression (compression check)? What have you changed on the ecu end of things? Everything (afm, cas, chts) connected? How are you verifying spark/fuel? Can you describe what the engine is doing? Trying to start, no sign of firing, wet plugs....? Intake and idle stuff hooked up right? Did you try turning the distributor 180 degrees? Its always something stupid.
I just think the whole timing was messed up to begin with. Rotating the distributor shaft from the oil pump little by little seemed to make the car closer to starting. I think it just needs to be moved a little more. When turning the motor over it was popping air out of the exhaust almost as if it were about to start. I think we are all pretty much clueless.
