Bottom end rebuild...

Seeing as I've blown the rings out in cyl 1 on the Z. I figured it's time for a rebuild.
What Im curious on, is the bearings aren't color coded like Hondas. Do I need to mic the crank and rods to be sure that they are still STD size? Or do I need to just throw them in assuming the stock bearings show no wear, and the crank isn't scarred up. If I do need to mic them, should I have the rods and crank machined to match the overzised bearings?
The only thing available for it is STD, .010, .020, etc.
I never imagined I could rebuild the bottom end (rings, main, rod bearings) for under 120 bucks.

I am sure your rods and crank are fine. They are pretty damn strong
I wouldn't think you would have to mic them since it would kinda be obvious if there was any damage unless you are just worried more about wear ?

The begining is near! Tonight I tear it apart. Remove the DS, put it up on jack stands, remove the fluids and hoses, along with the IC and pipes. I will also do some measurments for the new 3" d/p and o2 eliminator. Im excited.
Does anyone know if I should remove the tranny at the same time, or seperate?
