Redtop/Blacktop s13 Vs. S14 SR20's
what are the PRO's and CON's for each.
i know the s14 has VVT, larger turbo, and low port.
sorry, i am new at the sr thing.
thinking of swapping. just want some advice.
s13 motors are about 5-600 less than a s14. is the s14 worth it???

Supposedlly the S13's low port head flows better than the S14/15 High port head .
I say go with an S13 add s15 BB turbo . Cheaper and mroe readily avalible . Plus VVT is mroe of a headache than anything .

Also,
Its getting harder and harder to source a good engine or clip. They are coming out of other countries and may not be in good condition as they use to be.
Parts are readily available for S13 sr's. S14 SR you have to wait sometimes as they are not in stock. ALthough lately shops have been getting better on this.
You get a cool hump in the back of the valvecover......heheheh...j/k

i just want a 300-350hp daily driver. i can get a s14 front clip for 3k, that is why i ask.

damn andy didnt think u would be headin down the bandwagon but have fun...just put a s13 redtop and like u ever else said it s15 t28 turbo and u should be fine..

i dont even car about the bandwagon. i knew about the silvia many years ago, like 96-97. i always wanted a powerful 240. seeing as that i am getting rid of 2turbos, i want at least one back
really, i thought about KAT but i just dont know how solid it would be, this will be a daily driver with some drift duty so it needs to be stout. i dont want to spend the money on a SR but it seems to be the best option. yes KAT is cheaper all around but how does the ka like boost? when would i need to swap in forged insides?
