ive got most everything nmow for KA turbo setup for budget minded people like myself. all i need is a turbo and intercooler.
thinking baout a .50trim stage 3 t04e... whats your thoughts?
set up is a JGS tools log manifold, DSM 450's top feeds with aeromotive regulator, safc or romtune. should be a real nice setup when its all done. real clean.
thinking of going super clean VIP style on the car... or just keep it hard core army green

i know i preached against it, but the more i thought about it... i can replace the whole motor cheaper than i can an SR water pump

t3/to4e .50trim is pretty much THE turbo as long as you dont want to go past 18psi

sounds like a good setup. what are your power goals on the stock motor? still looking for good response for autocross and drift?
picking dsm topfeed 450s over say, 370cc sidefeeds makes me believe you are looking for more than 270ish rwhp. dsm 450's are cheap though but you gotta get a topfeed rail (unless the ka24e rail fits) and i believe you need the resistor box (which for wiring guru like you i guess its not much hassle).
for intercooler, johnnyracecar.com has good units that are cheap and good for up to 300rwhp on some setups (though his sizes are somewhat odd), and streetimports has good cores on ebay (he offers big discount prices on honda-tech in the advert section). still debating on what i want to go with.
i like the army green. but maybe a 'better' army green with clearcoat this time would look super clean. maybe some nice skirts and rear valences too, would be hot.

Well, for people who build it themselves, KA-Ts save money in the long run. Anyways, a ROM tune would address timing issues so that's the safest way to go. Pricey but what's the price of you NOT doing it... There's the MSD BTM in case you want to cut costs.
Homegrown KA-Ts are getting easier by the day - let me know if you need anything.
