I was driving my 300ZX Z31 around with cold air intake, HKS exhaust , crane hi-6 ignition, Motorsport auto 270 / 270 Cams , and a 240sx throttle body! I also had NISMO Exhaust studs on my VG thank you very much!!

Honestly guys, I could care less if this guy is REALLY facinated and motivated to put an RB25 in his 240.. What DOES piss me off is....

-The claims he's using to justify the swap (increased power over SR mainly)
-The fact that its "not expensive" (because it is)
-The fact that it is a good "bang for the buck" (because its not compared to the SR....

I would have had 0 problems if one statement (or similar) would have come out of the mouth of the owner..

"I really dont care about anything else, I want an RB25 in my car for shits and giggles."
or
"I just have some wierd obsession for the sound of an inline 6 over a four, and you cant shake me from it no matter what"

Then I would have said to him that "If it was me I would have done different, but props to him on his project"

What did I read wrong? I wasnt making that last large flaming post to get at you, it was to get at RB25DET and just show him where the facts lie.

fact:i did not say the RB was better then the SR so i have no need for articles.
I know you didnt, you just said that ya might as well just buy a skyline (assuming from motorex or another legal importer) to be different. This is fine.

fact:all i was saying is what this guy wants to do with his motor
I was just trying to show that trying to meet these goals with this motor is going to be an extreme pain in the ass.

fact:where the hell were all this nissan freaks back in 98?when i owned my 200sx and they were like "whats nismo"?
I was bumping my Z31 with Intake, 3 inch turbo back straight pipe, halliman MBC , VDO guage, custom rate ST springs, tokico 5-way illuminas, custom diameter ST swaybars, adjustable rear camber , t-top snapping, mean monster autocross machine (5th in the state in ASP in 1999) stuffs.

fact:japanese tuners have stroked kit SR'S
Some of them do! But I know a decent ammount of them dont! I can pretty much guarantee that there is an 850+ rwhp SR20 (not stroked but forged internals) out there! Considering completely stock they can put down 601 (and the 601RWHP car hasnt failed yet, or not that ive heard of.. Enthalpy also suffered valvetrain issues not engine problems) then I dont see why a fully built SR couldnt do 1000. theres probabally 1-2 1000rwhp SR20's that are still 2.0's out there...

fact:since it seems like you got some cash flow, ship over a "used" skyline" is you wanna be different from the rest.....and hook that up i think you will be happier wit that then a 240......
I agree here alot.. It still has the motor, a totally different body, and would be a "nice" car to drive around, even a GTS-T..

why not just get the rb26 if you want a skyline motor so bad. that would be more original than a rb25

from what i hear about CA18DET's are that they have very poor cooling systems and they over heat real easy. the rb26 is harded to get a hold of one. I looked for the RB26 first couldnt find one in decent condition so I stepped down a notch. So I just recently started looking for an RB25. But if anyone knows where I can find A RB26DETT than tell me.

I'm sure if you came up with a check, then secret services or XAT could most likely find you one, just gotta call around.

Talking Did One Better

I'm nearing completion. I did one better. I found A RB26DETT its nice and snug but it fits, I have test drove it and it handles great, there is so much power under the hood its going to be great once I get the rest of my parts and modifications completed. I completely rebuilt the motor, i had it shipped in from japan, but the car I pulled the motor from was a Skyline R34 GTR V-Spec II, the car had been totalled, so I got lucky finding this motor. I can't wait to debute this car. I have completed the suspension for my car. All I have left is the engine and drive train mods to finish. So i got my fingers crossed to finish it before the end of this year. It sucks cause i coule finish it sooner but i gotta work. It sucks!
