S13 RB25DET question..

Hello all, i've been posting on this site for quite a while in the Honda/Acura forum, but it's time to get rid of the toys and step it up a little...
I'm planning on doing an rb25 swap into a 91+ s13 in the near future. One thing i'm not certain on is the wiring. I've read that the GT-S engine harness works, and is pretty much plug and play except for a few wires (cluster I believe?) with the RB ecu. Is this true? Is it that simple or is there more to expect? Also, I was going to use the McKinney Motorsports mounts and driveshaft. Anyone here using them or know someone using them, what do you guys think? And finally I'm still stuck on which diff to use... I don't think I want to use a VLSD so what are the best aftermarket options? Any other suggestions/pros/cons welcome! Thanks in advance guys!

the wiring is no where near plug and play. in fact, its pretty f-ing weird. i can do it though. the RB25 in that car will make it VERY nose heavy so be careful. you dont need to use the mckinney driveshaft, it'd be cheaper to just have one made. in fact, depending on which tranny you get (depending on your goals) you may even be able to use your stock driveshaft! there are two variants to the RB tranny. one uses an SR-style trans, while the other is MUCH larger. the larger of the two will use a combination of Z32 and S13 driveshaft parts making it a one peice driveshaft.
its most definately possible and the 02 housing needs to be modified to clear the steering rack, which we can also do for you.

i also second taking it to XAT for the wiring, they do a great job, and i won't bother with a toilet of a motor into a nice nimble lightweight beautiful s13

Awesome guys, thanks, this was the point of this thread. Now, why is it no one here seems the RB25 is a good choice over the SR for an S13? Simply because of weight? If so, how much of a weight difference is it? I would like to make 400-450 to the wheels, so it seemed a better idea to go with the RB so I could run the stock internals for a while. However, if the SR is that much lighter than the RB I will stick with that because I don't really like drag racing.... Thanks for all the input
