Questionable swap...
Sorry matt...you are correct...wasnt thinking. We do however have a VG30DET from a Cima....interesting motor
dwlsrx8: torque is a function of where and how you make your power. Just because an engine has more torque doesnt mean it has more power...it could just mean it makes its power at a lower rpm. But ultimately on a realistic setup, the VG will make more useable power for less money. I just like the idea of lossing weight and still have plenty of power. Now if you are starting with an NA Z31, maybe an SR isnt too bad an idea, but thats a personal preference.
The one Martin did really is quite impressive. I didnt expect much from it at first, but its fast. It needs suspension and tires bad though....its all over the place

there is a lot of potential in the VG motor...but most people wont take the time to find it. the biggest issue is getting upgrade parts for it...mainly turbo manifold, intake, intercooler piping, etc. There are only a few turbo manifolds that are of any quality for the VG30ET....matt knows them by heart.
The biggest thing you have to do, and I never listened to matt on this, is the clutch. It is the top priority if you want to make it faster. Also if you can live without the A/C it makes it insanely easier to work around the turbo.
Its good for straight line and highway. With some work it could be made for corners, but a drifter it will never be.

Luckily i was the 3rd owner on it and it wasnt beatn badly at all er thatwas untillI got it...
See I have the abilty to erk on cars just turbo stoopid, do they make a book turbo's for dummies.... LOL

It doesnt have the turbo on it or the manifolds...I know that, but i still thought it was a turbo motor from the looks of it. I was not aware there was a Cima without the DET, at least not a Y33 which is what i thought it was from.. Do you know what year Cima it is from, or is it possibly a Y32 Cedric motor? I am interested in finding out more about the motor so we can find a good use for it
the intake manifold would say 4 cam 4 valve ceramic turbo
and then powered by nissan
yours says 4 cam 4 valve powered by nissan
i'm not sure what car it came out of.
it could be out of a 300ZR kouki z31in jp for all i know / care

Is there a way to find out which it is from the Vin, or do I have to read it on the block like normal??
