I got my headlight pans drilled out and ready to replace, and got the left side front cut apart off the new shell for install on my car.

Cut out battery tray area then replaced with sheetmetal from my old fender:

I'll Finish welding it after I make supports underneath it later this week. Looks alot better than before.

New stuff.

I have to section it a bit and trim it in certain areas but it should be ready to go on by tomarrow night.

I'm pretty happy with my progress because I've never done this before and I'm making it up as I go.

This is what I got done after work before I ran out of day light:

Thats not a weld line thats just grind marks from the original section. The new section is also just sitting in place with no clamps or tac welds. Its not perfectly straight yet, but its not long now.

The frame/chassis stuff will be finished by this weekend and ready for paint in the next week or two.

I can always tub them before I put the motor back in. I had thought about it. Then I thought about how much work it is V.S how lazy I am and I'm still up in the air about it.

If I do tub, I need to get the front situated first before I cut anything else.

Thanks for the compliments!

Me too, its turned out to be more simple than I had originally thought. But its not completly lined up yet. I still have some trimming before it gets welded back on. But I'm hoping it will be ready for paint by next weekend.

I've been tossing up the Idea about tubbing again because of the issues I had up in the mountains. But Since I dont go up there but 1-2 times a year Its not super important. I just dont know how the new front wheels will do when I get everything situated.

dude, you might as well tub it now, no better time to do than when the entire front of the car is taken apart anyway.
