The correct way to build an s14.
Yeah the part didnt fail completely the first time and I could of kept driving on them for a long time after with out having any real issues with it. They've had one batch of ruca's that have had problems with cracking in which they sent out replacement arms to everyone that they knew had bought them from that batch. I was the first person to have the problem and notify them and I'm pretty sure I might have gotten sent new arms accidentally from the same batch. Even if they didnt break, right now the one RUCA has slight surface cracks and for all I know it might just be the chrome plating but I dont feel like running the risk so instead I plan on using my awesome warranty and getting new replacement arms for free.
I buy from SPL for their quality as well as their customer service. I didnt get knocked off any pedestal. SPL is still the best suspension arm company out there. I've never once heard of anyone having a complete part failure with SPL. And only 4 people have actually had the same problem I've had with one specific part.
So stop trying to cause drama, since you dont really know anything about the subject.

Tim, i'm not on a quest, i know my suspension's not the best out there... how many times do i have to say that??? here, one more time.... my suspension is not the best, and in all likelyhood, will break loooong before any SPL part does, hopefully you can finally get that through your skull...
and dan, not trying to start drama either, nor was i say you got knocked of a pedestal, i said SPL did... as much as Tim, and "the like" praise SPL for thier greatness, and how it's so totally the best thing since sliced bread, i thought it was extremely amusing that here you are having a problem with your SPL stuff splitting and cracking on multiple arms, within a 1.5 year period...
that being said, i would STILL run SPL any day over the week, especially compared to what i have, and i feel bad your shit is failing, cause it means the cars going to have some down time, need an alignment, etc etc, and that's gotta suck for you, i know it would me...

The part did not fail, to be perfectly clear, the arm has surface cracks that are barely noticeable. I wont need an alignment. And this is a relatively isolated incident. From what SPL said last year they got a bad batch of tubing which didnt bend correctly and over time some of the arms would crack. Its not multiple arms its actually only 3.
SPL would only get knocked down if they handled the situation poorly. But they didnt and they never have. Thats what makes the difference. All parts have a chance to fail. Quality control takes care of most of that, but some times things just happen. I dont blame SPL in any way for the problems their arms are having. I blame the tubing supplier. Kuah said a while ago that he had already found a new supplier for tubing.

Thank you for the information, this reinforces that the problem is with defective tubing from the supplier. The problem appears to affect only a small percentage of the arms, so far other than your case, we just learnt of one more today. That is 2 out of 65 sets in the field. Although it does not seem to affect all, we have decided to recall all the arms, just in case... so as soon as we finish the new batch I will be sending you another set of arms.

So yes they are bad ass and I will defend them untill the prove otherwise.

cool deal, i'm glad they're handling it for you, hopefully, if/when any of my stuff fails, godspeed will handle it somewhat like SPL..
as a side note, i wasn't trying to start anything with you dan, i have the utmost respect for you and your car/build, and you've been nothing but helpful to me while building my own car... wish the same could be said about other unnamed people..
i think as my car "ages", i'll be graduating to SPL parts, not in one fatal swoop like i did with my godspeed, but one at a time, over time...
