Ok my 1g eclipse knocks after 2k rpm but doesn't knock under a load or if I'm downshifting only at like 1/4 to 3/4 throttle.. like steady 2k rpms and up. I'm thinking rod knock. But not sure since it doesn't do it downshifting. Any other ideas. Before I tear it down? Maybe wristpin???

 

sounds like a wrist pin or piston slap. the last 7 bolt ive ever messed with crankwalked and made a wrist pin type noise but only on a cold start and part throttle.
