Default Knocking!?!?!

Ok so my car is knocking. It happened right after I made a hard run down the road and then pulled in my driveway and it was knockin. It doesnt sound like its inside inside the motor but possibly the water pump? Would that make a knockin sound? If not what accesories on the motor might knock if they were fubared? I checked the harmonic balancer and it seems intact. Goin to investigate further tommorow but just wanna see what you all think it might be.

Bassace just had the same thing happen to his 93 coupe 5.0 and it turned out to be the harmonic balancer which we thought was intact. P.M. him for more details if you want he went to race related yesterday and they took care of it.

If it's not overheating or leaking coolant somewhere then it's not the water pump. How exactly was the balancer "checked?" Did you look at it while the motor was running? Just staring at it while it's inanimate in the car won't tell you anything. If it's wobbling as it idles then it's time for it to go. Take the belt off to double check there is no serious play in the water pump's shaft.

yeah it was just the harmonic balancer. I have one off an old motor so it'll be fixed easily.
