Default So Another Problem...

I Finally Got the wiring in the car correct(I Think) and I was driving it to work today.. and... the Tach was Stuck at 3k... the Speedometer was stuck at 60.. and the car kept getting slower..and slower..and if I tried to give it any Gas it just wouldnt have it (Sputtered and Backfired Like Crazy..) I get off at the Fowler Exit on I75... died in front of the iHop.. and Called the Tow Truck (again) Thank goodness for Free Towing through work.. now i popped the hood.. no smoke.. no crazy smell.. nothing.. but..i looked at the left side of the engine.. theres a Belt Just barely on.. so i gave it a looksie and it came Loose and i pulled a Belt out.. its a really small belt.. im thinking its the alternator Belt..

anyone else have any input on what it may be and if I just put the belt back on Will I Be Alright? or is there more Things i should look for?

What Gets me is I have yet to even get on this car.. kept it under 4k because I drive far to work...

Please Suggestions..Comments..Help..

yeah sounds like an alt belt, your battery was dying, so when you went to give it gas it also needed more spark and was not able to deliver, i think, question is where you able to start it after it died, or did it just go CLICK!

Definitely sounds like the alternator belt...was your radio turning on and off just before it started dying on you? Check the other belts, the tensioner for the alternator, and your harmonic balancer/crank pulley to make sure its ok. I dont know about the 420a but the 4g63 pulley likes to come apart.

About the portfueler...what turbo/how much boost are you running? Stock injectors and ECU? If you're running more than 5psi on the stock injectors and ecu, I would definitely stay out of boost till you can get the extra fuel.

UPDATE: Went to go put the belt back on tonight.. No Bueno.. Couldnt find anything to adjust the alternator so that i could put the belt on.. any input?

And the DP was Bolted on only finger tight on one end and extremely loose on the other.. big gap everytime the pipe moved.. and yes you could flick it and it would move..

I Also Searched DSM Talk and every time i see one on there its for the 4G63 Motor.. and even in those pictures the alternators have a screw over the top that would loosen it..mines got a black metal cover over the top of it.
