Cool, I grew up in NPR. Well if you haven't dropped it in by time I get back, ill definately come give you a hand. I don't mind at all. I love working on cars, don't know why I haven't started my own shop yet. Let me know. Now how is this engine and tranny? Is it all put together or what? Like is it ready to be dropped in and bolted down?

So the motor isn't fully together since u said headbolts aren't in yet. That's not a prob. If you don't have it in by time I'm back in town, we'll get that thing on the streets. Not a big deal at all.

i just put a new motor in my car at my shop, but i have a lift , if you have access to one of these modern marvels then it is best to put it in through the bottom engine and tranny together as one piece.. IMO

It is def easier going in from the bottom with the tranny in, but don't sound like he's wanting to take his car anywhere to a lift. A hoist will the job . Well keep in touch and let me know what's going on w the gst.

yeah i hear ya, if you all could get it to my shop i would let you use the lift but i am like 2 hours away, i wish i was closer to help, but once you have the motor in you can put the tranny in with a jack and some stands
good luck guys

Nothin is wrong with the motor, the guy sold his other motor that was layin down 623 and now i am puttin a six bolt in it, and i would take it to a lift i just figured it would be a pain in the ass to put the car on a trailer and take it somewhere when i could do it at the house and save sometime and money.

That's what I had in mind. I didn't have a hoist when I put mine in, did it the hard ass way and left the axles and tranny in place when I pulled my 7 bolt and swapped in the 6 bolt. It was definately a tight ass fit haha. But yes, motor then tranny from the bottom is the best plan, save time and money versus transporting it.
