the old man needs an 03-04 cobra with a whipple and nitrous. lol

anyways i dont understand why people care about having a fast spool on a car they are going to race, its not like u race at 3k,4k,5k rpms.

the yellow car i bet has broken drivetrain parts from all the low end tq of a 2.3 and its a liltle mirage, i could just imagine a 2g lol. u'll need a shep dogbox with a super strong t-case if ur really thinking about making over 600hp.

when a car is driven on the street 99% of you drive time is spent between 2500-5000rpm. the yellow car is a ball stabbing throttle at 2500rpm in any gear. those who dont care about lag have never driven both a 600hp lag monster and a 600hp torque monster. you can have your cake and eat it too. just need to know what you are doing.

I dont know why there is so much discussion about drag cars. 99% of people modding their 4g63 drive it on the street. why do you even care about drag car power bands??

I agree but at least in my opinion its not so much the powerband, its comes down to the fact that these drivetrains arent ment for that kind of power. Strokers scare me just because I feel Id be more likely to break a drivetrain part. Who wouldnt love 600awhp with 600ft/lbs of torque and super insane spool, but its simply not the platform for these kind of numbers, especially if you want the car to last for awhile. I guess you have to weigh fun factor vs reliability on a street car. Jose I dont know if you really want to deal with the burden of a 600awhp stroker dsm. If you do cool but if not sure do more research, Jerrys a perfect person to ask questions to in your case. He might have some horror stories for you as far as what to expect.

Jose I say lower your goals and instead build a 2.0 and throw a hx35 or a hx40 at it but since thats what Im doing it may sound totally biased, so take that with a grain of salt...

Most dream builds that go beyond a stock block and a bolt-on mitsu manifold turbo either don't get done, get done poorly and/or end up being parted out. Not to say that you can't do it, just be prepared for one of those three. These aren't honda B series motors, you don't need to put 5k in them to go faster than 99% of people ever will.

Hmm, thats kind of true^

One last thing to add, If you continue with the stroker just at least lower your power goals, or do like JR was saying and get yourself a dogbox and a really good tcase and hope they dont break too.

If you drive your car like a race car, it will break like a race car - it doesn't matter how much power you make, it's unavoidable.
