Since when does an hx35 flow over 65 lbs/m?

You should get an FP86.

I guess I need not say anything, I'm sure you and Drew discussed my set up already. Let me know if you need some convincing I will take you for a ride with a few people in the car to match weight. As for trannies, yes get 2 more to be safe! As for top end, my car has crazy top end like none I've seen out of these engines before yO

Exellent turbo but it's pricey, honestly if you want a turbo close but way cheaper get the precision 6235rlsp. It uses a 62mm billet wheel like the HTA86 on the 35r cartridge and exh wheel and makes only 30-40 less with only 150rpm later spool. I believe you can get them for around $1100

I have driven more than most. pretty much every build in this area. The 35r with 2.3 is a great setup. But it is boarder line fun if you ask me. The only 2.3 /35r I can live with is the one in the yellow car. Everyone elses that I have driven has sacrificed too much spool in attempt to set HP records. Big turbos are not as much fun a smaller ones that spool fast. It is just that simple for me. There is a point where too much low end torque is discarded for high RPM power. That is very easily achieved with a 35r turbo. All my future builds will be done on smaller turbos. Beside that success with large turbo is much harder and more expensive than people realize. that leads to an exceptional number of failures. most really. I can remember the day when everyone ran a 16g. There where lots of running cars in those days. everyone was having fun. take note. the old man speaks the truth.

Anyways Jose, aint seen you in a min man, but I am going to get a hx40 for my car and it will cost half the price of a GT series turbo. People are still getting full boost in the low 4k region with that turbo and mid 400 whp on pump gas and mid 500 hp on race gas is realistic. One guy did 653awhp on the hx40 at 40psi, and that was on the small BEP housing... Id definitly say a hx40 is in gt35r terriotory.

Side note, yes you will be in need of spare drivetrain parts, especially since you want this power out of a 2.3 and even worse with your cars weight...
Personally even if I could do more, Id stop at 450awhp just to avoid the tranny headaches...

I agree with RJ on the 2.3l part, that would be about 18psi for me lol...

I need to buy 6 more trannies so I have one for everyday of the week.
