I dont like methanol , or nitromethane or any other alternative fuel that "REAL PRO cars run" . If your attempting to be as fast as a prostock car on the street you have either a tilted view of reality or are just plain idiodic .

I don't knock methanols ability as a good fuel . I agree that it is a great way to make a cleaner burning/runnign engine ..

I just enjoy C16/Import as I have it here and it's easy to use/tune for in a few quick pulls . A straight methanol car is not somethign seen on the road , but they do sell C16 locally and even the gas station on hercules carries Sunoco 117 Leaded ..

Straight meth is run in place of vp import not because it is cheaper, but because it makes 10% more power. For cars making 800whp that 80 whp comes in real handy. And it is MUCH easier to get a safe tune. Meth is far more forgiving than race gas. Thats why the pros use meth. But it has its drawbacks. It uses twice the amount of fuel as gas. So fuel systems have to be designed around it. On 1000+hp setups you pretty much have to run mechanical fuel pumps to get required volume. And the systems have to be pickled with gas after use otherwise alky compatible components corrode. There is not a fuel pump on the market that can handle meth run daily. If there was I wold have been using it. All meth compatible fuel pumps are made with anodized aluminum which works for short periods of time. run 24/7 the meth will reach the aluminum. From there its game over. There is however after 5 years of searching a fuel injector that is 100% meth safe 24/7.

As far as meth vs race gas in a race car driven on the street? Race gas gets the win. so much meth is required you would need a 25 gallon tank to get from here to bradenton, race, then drive back. kinda stupid if you ask me.

I agree with people who don't like meth injection setups. I don't really like them either but it's more of just personal preference on my end.
Should have said that from the get go. Most of us were talking about meth injection
