jdm eclipse???
To answer the original question, no. Eclipses are exlusive to the US. DSM stands for Diamond Star Motors, which most people forget that Dodge cars (Neon, Sebring, Avenger, and Stratus) were also DSMs. I have a friend that lives on an AF Base in Japan and he hasnt seen an Eclipse since he left, but he does see a lot of FTOs and GTO's (3000GT for us in the USA).
only difference between a cyclone motor and a standard 4g63 is that it comes with a cyclone intake manifold. thats it. they're both 6 bolts..they cam exclusive in certain japanese vehicles, not u.s.
that doesnt mean eclipses were ever offered in japan. eclipses is a u.s. car only. same with the talons. we're all part of the chyrsler family. except with a mitsu badge and mitsu engine.

and now introducing my newest toy...
-Silver Slow-poke-
eclipses were not offer in japan...they were made for countries that left hand drive...the eclipse of japan was the FTO...Mitsu struck a deal with dodge to help bring the cars they made to a more popular base here. That is why the talon and laser had the 4G63 in them. It was all part of the deal.

No Eclipse's in Japan?
wrong!
Japanese Gull-Winged Eclipses
Also there's a widebody/fender flared red 1g in Japan in which some old school DSM owners have seen the pictures of as well.
There's already been a few 420a based 2g's also that have gone through the Evo 8 swap done in Japan.
Just because it was produced here doesn't mean its not over there. They even have a Pontiac Sunfire version in Japan.
Please take the time to research outside the DSM realm that everyone thinks the car are only here when you can even find them across sea's in places like Australia as well.

From what I gathered long time ago on DSMtalk the guy who posted these was from Japan and some of the parts to do the brake swap would be hard for anyone to do here in the States without sourcing out parts from across seas from a type of Galant or Galant style they offer in Japan.

The Eclipse was only made in the US and was not sold or isn't anywhere else? Wrong again...
