Default Help!! Temp Guage Reading Hot!!

For some reason the temp gauge on my car is reading hot but the car is running perfect. When the car warms up it will stay at around 190F then after driving for a little while it will slowly rise all the way up to basically over heating but still runs perfectly like nothing is wrong with it. The only to keep the gauge from going all the way up past the bar is to turn the heater on. Not sure what to do. Im guessin its my thermostat but not postive so I dont wanna go spending money on something I dont have to. Does any body have suggestions or know whats going on. I think im gonna end up having to replace my thermostat and water pump or... Sell the car and get an Evo or swap to a 6bolt and build it

Why don't you feel your radiator hose (or remove the radiator cap) and see if the coolant is flowing?

When did you put those rims on that ^ car? What size are they (diameter)? The bolt pattern is 4 x 114.3, correct?

I wanna build a motor so I was swap it out for a 6bolt. I checked the other day to see if I had coolant in there but didnt think to check if the coolant is flowing. I wanna say its the water pump. By the way where is the water pump. I looked on Vfaq to look for a write up on changing it but I couldnt find an article
