Eclipse Brakes
Well the time has come to do the brakes on our 96 eclipse gs.
Since we are gonna have it all apart, we might as well do the upgrade now.
What are some options for brake upgrades?
I know in the nissan world, you can upgrade your 240sx brakes by using 300zx brakes.
Anything like that in the mitsubishi world?
any good aftermarket set ups that won't brake the bank?
as far as aftermarket goes, we would be looking for slotted...
thanks for the help

2g gsx calipers and rotors...dual piston vs. single
or steering knuckles off of a galant and evo 8/9 brembos
or try searching the one billion websites on the net with aftermartket brakes upgrades...they're all expensive... 2g gsx brakes should do you good

ok, so where does one go to get gsx calipers?
you said they were 2 piston and according to places like advance, they are single piston.....
is the dealership the only place to get the right ones?

ebay or junk yard or someone parting out a car on mitsu for sale...yes they are dual piston... gsx rotor is bigger than gs...you might be able to use your gs rotor but not to sure on that one.

just got off the phone with the dealership.
the GSX rotors (2 piston) are $118.18 and take a few days to ship. They say that the rotors are the same on all of them. The only difference between the GS and the GSX is the caliper itself, the rotors are the same....... according to the dealership....

the gsx only has dual pistons on the front. and the rotors are bigger, i have compared them side by side. the rear gsx brakes are also bigger, once again i have compared them side by side.

im pretty sure the fronts of the gsx are bigger than the gst, and i am positive they are bigger on the rears. now i havent looked into a GS before, but why would they put bigger brakes on a GS than a GST?
