Lol yeah the money... you'll never recover from it... so if you got money to waste then go for it but don't expect to get it back or close to it.

so true, thats the whole reason I started another project and put my GSX back to stock. I would lose to much selling it, best to keep and use it!

yeah, I'd never worked on a car before I got my first eclipse, now I have about 5 grand in tools and a workshop lol, yeah even if the motor looks "clean" if you dont have proof of when the timing/balance shaft belts were replaced oil changed etc. on the other hand u may jsut wanna say screw the b. shaft and get the elimination kit, its only about a hr and a half process if you got the right tools and a walkthrough, it makes your engine more reliable(granted little more vib. at idel) and it's weight reduction bro lol
o and yeah turbo timer= waste of money go get some new intercooler piping instead lol

+alot, First thing I did with mine was timing belt, tensioner, idler pulley, water pump, all corresponding seals and yanked the balance shafts while i was down there . while you have the timing belt out I would also recommend changing the cam shaft seals, they are very cheap and easy to do if the timing belt is already off the car. it's good to try and reaplce whatever seals you can because you will learn that these cars will leak oil ever chance they get.
you really want to be sure you car is in good mechanical condition before any mods. when I did my timing belt i discovered it was pretty much ready to let go, it was a $20 discount belt and it had cracks. I would also do a compression test.

Dont asssume the engine doesnt need maintenance because it runs good. I would do a timing belt and waterpump right off the bat just so you can sleep well at night. Dont waste your money on a turbo timer, the stock turbo is water cooled anyways.

+1, why does everyone want a turbo timer as there first mod ?? they are usually for people running non-water cooled turbos and run them hard. plus if you use synthetic oil ( which you should ) then there should never be an issue with clogging up the stock water cooled turbo.
