stroking it...
Joe your car was dynoed when Dave didnt know how to use the dyno. he only had it a few weeks. He has long since figured it out. If you have some proof 1g head ports are superior to 2g ports, I am listening. I just switched to 7 bolt head on the yellow car, pretty close to a back to back. We will see if it makes more power. I drove jons car. It was nothing short of the perfect back to back test. Believe what you want, no skin off my back.
Even if dave doesn't know how to use the dyno they do know how to make evos fast. I got one for ya. With maybe a 100 evo cars in the 8s, 9s, and low 10s, how come there is not a single report of one switching to 1g port size???? It would be very easy to do. many in the dsm world ported 2g heads to match 1g port intakes. Why not do it on the evos?
Curt brown had a hidden secret and has always made nitrous like power. The car did do 9.30s/150 with that 650whp on daves dyno. Most 670whp evos from dyno jets do about 10.7/135. The dyno IS a very low reading dyno. the numbers from the evo9 are correct. Its a monster on the stock 2g ports with stock evo intake. Are you just not wanting to learn new things? I say get your head out of NABR. bunch of idiots. you are what you eat.

Good luck getting Dave to admit that he didn't know how to use his dyno. He wanted to fight me when I told him that.
Lastly, Everyone knows Curt's secret is more about weight than making more HP than everyone else. Of course he makes good HP numbers. He does have secrets for that however weight is the #1 reason his numbers stand out.
Wonder how many people stuck their head under Curts EVO. I did.
just because something is working good doesnt make it better.
How many 7 bolt heads have made 1500hp?
These other 650hp+ evos that run slower than Curt (I would bet) are not nearly as light nor can drive as good as Curt.
I dont really think the likes of John Shepherd, Brent Rau, Curt Brown, Marco,TY, Kiggly, DG and so on are idiots. They are probably the farthest thing from idiots.

Don't forget how much E.T. a 1.4 60' time will get you over a 1.7 or 1.8 60' time. 4 Slicks helps a lot.
I'd like to also point out that from what I know from looking at Curts car and talking to him, HP is not his #2 reason for being as fast as he is.

I stuck my head in and under curts talon. That was when I lost all respect for the guy. Reading his car was 2500 pounds and actually seeing it are two different things. His lightweight antics where never a secret, he was always open about what his cars weighed. he did however successfully keep secret how to make more power than everyone else using the same size turbo. You can believe it was all weight secrets. The math says otherwise.
Tom, your arguement makes no sense either. Just because five well known inteligent guys go fast on 1g ports, dont make it better than the 2g design. All the guys who went fast on 1g stuff rode on the backs of one another. If you lift your hood you cant keep secret what ports you are using. I know one of the original HP idols used 2g head. That was righttouch who held the fwd record for a very long time. He was making 750 whp long before NABR was even just the four original guys.
What you gotta understand about all the high horsepower setups is it takes enormous trial and error to get to those HP levels. Everyone also knows about the famous shootout where two very high HP cars killed there ported heads and had to use stock heads to continue competing. One of those cars went faster than his ported head. And the other set his new mph best. Perfect example of how making ports bigger to flow more cfm is not always better. velocity is important. arguing what port size is better to me is stupid. Its like saying the 1g block is a better design. mitsubishi has the ability to cast any port size they want. for 20 years they tweaked the design of the 4g63 to do one thing. MAKE MORE POWER.
