Default Eclipse VS. Ford Lightning

What would it take to get a GSX/TSiAWD to beat a lightly modded Lightning?

Well here's the deal...I'm buying a GSX and a I have big plans for it, and no matter what, my friend (with a Lightning), says I'll never beat him (i.e. he stomps EVO VIII's all the time. I think he's putting down about 5-something horsepower. Help?

They start in the mid 400's, I believe. It's a supercharged V8, bro. I'd rather have a DSM anyway. I really don't like cars that are fast as shit stock...I'd rather have a car I can be proud that I MADE it fast.
