But, just like the brothers are talking about, i had 1g bottom 2g top.

Weren't you saying somthing about a hyundai bottom end being able to do the job or somthing like that, Dave?
oh yea as for the Hyundai bottom we found it has not really been tested out but its design like a 7bolt block but has a 6bolt crank in it we have not tried it out personally so I wouldn't be able to give you to much info as of right now one we try it out and see what happens we will post up the status we like to try it first before even suggesting some one to try it that my opinion.

Yea its from a 98 Hyundia Sonata its a 2.0 it has a 6bolt crank with a 7bolt block design it also has the crank sensor aswell like the 2g it looks identicall to a 7bolt block just has a 6bolt crank in it I think it should be a direct bolt on we have not tried it yet, still looking into it once we tested out will will let everyone know how it worked out.

no the car is NA you will need to drop in a set of turbo rods and pistons and a 2g oil pan keep in mind this motor is non turbo so would need install turbo parts once we test it out and see what all in detail it takes I will post up status. As of right now I would not advise anyone to try it cause it has not been tested out yet.

ehhh seems like ALOT of work..

is it an identical crank to the 1g?

would the 6bolt crank hold as much power?

that is exactly the type of info I want to look into before anything thats why I want to test it first before anything I will post up all that is needed as far as parts go and test it power wise also and see what it will hold up too.

I have also done a 6 bolt swap and had the same misfire code.I think its something in the ecu/year of the car its going in.Both engines to me are good enough for what most people want.Shit i think Jorge is still on the stock bottem end and his car has seen a TON of boost.

Lancerman, not trying to get on your bad side anymore than I am but, I remember you telling my that the 2g head on the 1g bottom end causes the random misfire? The Brothers had it around the sametime as Melissa's car did and when you brought that up they changed theres and it was gone. None of us realized why it happened. Thats why we strayed away from that combination. I have never heard of this problem on a complete 6 bolt longblock. Oh well I understand why your saying what you said, but its the wrong way to do it I think.

No Miguel you are mistaken. The brothers are the ones who started passing the word that 1g bottom ends will misfire in a 2g. They started telling everyone after they swapped a 1g head on their car and their misfire problem went away. I have only joked to my friends about it how rediculous that notion is. I will say it one last time.THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE between a 1g and 2g head. They both mount the sensor EXACTLY the same. What the brothers noticed was pure coincidence and never should have been spread like a fact. They are to this day clueless as to why their misfire went away. And furthur just because they have done a handful of swaps and not had a problem with them doesn't mean the misfire problem doesn't exist. It simply does not happen to ALL cars.
