Autozone can pull that code for you and save you a bit of money. You should, at the very least, get the code pulled there before you go to any shop (unless they're going to pull the code for free, which is unlikely).

Yea the code is the reason that the check engine lite is on.Autozone is a good place to get it looked at for a desent amount. Most other places it'll run u between 50-100 just 4 them to put the scanner on.

And, by decent amount, he means free.

Also, while you're there, you may as well purchase a compression tester for about $30 and save yourself some money on this as well. I've never taken a car anywhere for a compression test (because I've got a gauge), so I don't know what a shop will charge, but I imagine it's more than the cost of the gauge. So, you decide...

the compression test hosana auto said they charge $25.00 for it, i could get my own but I've never done the test so i wouldnt know what to do... if it were my project car i wouldnt mind but right now i just wanna get it running right ASAP...so i probably go to autozone later and then a shop for the compression test and eventually buy that kit so i can do it myslelf next time..
