You people bitch about things you know nothing about more than anyone from any board I've been on. E-mail JR if you want a dyno sheet, or an email from whoever claimed to make the 500whp. I really don't care what you think, so I am not going to waste my time to get the information myself. Why would he lie on his website? Why would he make it only 500whp if he were going to lie? Why not 700whp?

Bottom line is that no one here has posted dimensions of the Evo8 cooler, and it is not significantly larger than my core, if it is indeed larger at all. I haven't seen tremendous dyno numbers on the stock Evo8 fmic unless the car had water/alky injection and/or race gas, which leads me to believe it is a very average intercooler.

But if you want to buy a used, stock intercooler with bent fins and inlets that point toward the ground, have fun. I'll drop a few extra bucks for a brand new core of the same size, complete with mounting hardware, shipped to my doorstep.

EDIT: And btw, the $300 was not entirely paid to JR for the kit. The core was $230, and the piping and couplers from jcwhitney and ebay were another $75 total.

everyone knoews the demensions on an evo8 intecooler. And maybe you hae not seen termendous dyno numbers on stock evo9 ic's because you are not in the right place. visit nabr latly? I THINK NOT

Bigger is not always better.
Flow and pressure drop are also important.
The evo fmic was designed to work well with the smaller turbos.
Getting the right parts to work together and compliment each other is the key.
But what do i know.
I only have a 400+hp 16g powered car that runs 11`s.
How about you?

is that the only comeback you could think of? Of all the people here in mitsu tech, Tom and Ian are two of the most knowlegeable, as tom said its not the size of the intercooler, is the right sized one to big= psi drop too small = heat soak.

No proof of the evo fmic???
Are you kidding me.
That fmic has gone faster than me, and way faster than you`ll ever go.
Trust me when i say Mitsubishi racing has put alot more money and time into thier product than johnny race car.

And you think putting a JR intercooler on one of those Evos would sink it back into the 15s?
