Better not let it happen again, or will be forced to regulate your ass.... by the way, do you have one of those backwards motors in your saab? Ive been trying to find someone who knows why they did that.

You mean like the exhaust manifold near the firewall? Nope but i know why they do it... The motor is switched so that the intake manifold is facing the front of the car which allows more air to cool it down.

Yeah, it was pretty evident when I did a search and saw your 10 posts over the course of two years, then 5 flames in one day.

What backward motors? I know they used V4's for a while, which is very odd.
*edit* Oh, I see what you were asking. That's not that odd, a lot of the rally cars have been doing that recently.

The tranny is facing the front bumper, the front of the motor faces the firewall. I never caught on to the point of placing more weight in the very front of the car like that for a saab....i dont know much about them though, and it was on the older ones.

No, im not exactly sure about that id have to get back to you on that. I havent really heard of the tranny in the front that just seems like a bad idea.

Was that on one of the old funky v4 models? It sounds like they were just imitating the layout of most longitudinal rwd cars, but in reverse. Probably some funky against-the-grain thing Saab did instead of just going with the transverse mounting. Saab was well known for their unconventional (funky) design before they were bought out.

I think they were the v4 ones, i was looking more at the tranny setup I never noticed the motor. But it was one before the buyout, so all their weird designs where still in play.
