If '2 weeks ago' he recently installed a boost controller, and now he's hearing what sounds like boost leaking, I'm going to put my money on a leaking vaccum line. If he was just driving around town and the leak begun, I'd consider the other possibilities.

i didnt say it was blown.... im just saying he stuck a boost controller on there and now hes hearing noises. its just a possibility he overboosted it and might have killed it. it also could be a number of things. im not counting out boost leaks and ICP leaks. just check the turbo for bent fins and shaft play, if not, check all vacuum lines and ICPs.

Fixed the problem
I made one of the leak testers from http://www.vfaq.com and tested for leaks.
It turns out I had a huge leak in one of the upper intercooler pipes, right next to the BOV, the car feels a lot better now, thanks for the help.
