I agree, I drove the car the day after the boost controller install to check it out. Very easy to use, the display is very easy to read and user-friendly.

This was the boost controller I was interested in before I realized that the 10 dollar homemade mbc was about all I could afford. I originally saw it on e-gay for 290 + whatever outrageous shipping they wanted. I liked what I saw back then, the integrated boost gauge was my favorite feature, I hate a pillar pods so much that I ripped the one that came with my car out and mounted my boost gauge on top of my steering column with velcro. Previous owner had cut holes in the trim piece, so now I've got to go find a new trim piece in the junkyard or something, eventually.

How well does the integrated gauge work, how accurate, what kind of response, etc.? What does it read in, can it read in psi?

yea, the integrated guage will read in standard and metric measurements... PSi and KPA... Kilopascals for those of you who are uneducated. hehehe

this sounds like its the hottshit... judging by my past and current experience w/ the original Profec B... im going to have to give this one a try. the Profec E-01 is almost too comprehensive for its own good... or for my own good. Its rpobably too complex for me to learn to operate... like turning knobs and pushing buttons and getting the desired result.

Now, if only the Profec B Spec-2 could serve as a turbo timer....

its also a perfect size. One might want to check into the Blitz Din Panel... itll hold your GReddy TT and the Profec B (spec1 or 2) as well as your favorite 60mm guage (probably an EGT if i had it my way.)

Great Review and writeup John, im Sold on it already.

Do the Engrish instructions serve pretty well to install it or are those confusing too? From the way you make it sound... they are like reading Sanscrit.. or Japanese? as far as trying to set up the unit.

Ah, it can read in psi. I had seen his reference to kpa up there, but I wouldn't want to use it unless I could set it for psi, I'm lazy that way. Now if only I had 300 dollars laying around that I needed to waste.

you will REALLY appeciate being able to adjust your boost from the cockpit... Lord knows i do... and im lazier than you!

seriously tho, thats what i love about the Profec's, you essentially can have THREE boost settings:

1. Stock/"i broke something and cant beat on it" setting
2. Low "im running 93 octane and tuned for zero knock" setting
3. High "im running 33% mix of Xylene" setting

I showed my friend the difference between stock WG, Low setting and my high... and hes like "Damn dude, thats like 2 stage nitrous!!" Its pretty cool, fo real. youll love it, especially if you get the remote button to attach to your steering wheel. itll be like a NAWZ button man!

Boost controller installs are quite easy once you've done one. Now the ones with all the extra frills usually require tapping into your ECU, and can be a bit more to them.
