Default Is this a good deal?

A guy offered me a trade for his Eagle Talon TSi AWD for my b16 swapped CRX.

The talon has a 16g turbo, and an EVO head or something.
has alot of susp. and brakes mods, and it runs up to 22 psi safely. He claims it runs 12's and has 300+ hp to the wheels. The only problem is that theres a tranny fluid leak. Id be getting a free FWD tranny with the deal and some 17" Konig rims & tires. Could the leak be caused by just a gasket or something along those lines? Or is the AWD tranny fucked and ill need a new one?

My car has a b16 swap with a fully built head, and alllloooott of other mods. Cant think of them right now. Pics in gallery.

My car is all pretty and blah blah blah. The talon is black and silver with fading paint on hood and roof. Its a sleeper i guess, but i want to know if its a good deal to be trading my orange baby for the ugly fast car? I want VRRRMMMMM PSHHHHHH pretty much and AWD. Good, Bad, or Decent deal?

NO BAD deal!

Whats the guys number?

it does sound a little fishy...why does he want to trade the car? sick of having problem?
and if he's running 22psi safely on a 16g I would ask him what he did to make it safe.

Depends on where the leak is in the tranny could be just a simple fix.

And what are you calling ugly? I personally like the looks of a 1g over many hondas.

a little fishy is right. Not to be a dick but why would someone trade a "12sec" AWD DSM for a ( I don't know what your car runs) but probably a 14 sec honda. And he's giving you a free FWD tranny , I don't know much about AWD but I'm pretty sure a FWD tranny would not work.

22psi is pushing a 16g kinda hard. I've heard of people pushing a little higher but on race gas and not to often.

fwd tranny wont work in an AWD setup.

the deal does seem odd, if its leaking back there by the transfer case even, might want to ask him if it was taken in for the TSB regarding the TC locking up. id say drive it around a little bit too, see if you notice anything funny. sounds like one of those too good to be true deals, but then again, ive seen weirder happen.

its a tsi fwd tranny, and all id have to do is remove drive shaft and real axles and just bolt the fwd tranny right up. It does seem odd and im still gonna look into it. I didnt say 1g's were ugly, just this one has some fading paint and compared to my car its ugly

Has anyone else with the AWD TSi tranny ever experienced a leak by the casing? Would this mean that I'd need a whole new tranny? If so, how much could a good used one go for from someone? I think I am gonna do this trade as soon as I sell my LS and pay tickets and what-not.

1st ask him if it has been taken in for the transfer case TSB...

if ya keep him waiting long enough the car will break and you can get it cheaper

he doesnt drive it because the leak, as soon as it started he stopped driving the car. He can have it towed to my house and ill put the fwd tranny and axles in that day. But Im starting to realize how good of a deal this is for me and gettin kinda excited for the DSM conversion from Honda! oh yea, time to go fast
