Word.

If you are not a skilled mechanic be prepared to become one within the next 6 months. DSM's in the wrong hands are what give them such bad names.

And you will regret making it fwd when you all ready are working with an awd. You might as well sell that fwd tranny and either fix the awd or buy another one. AWD >FWD....(ok depends on what you really want)

Can you take some pictures of where its leaking at? Or clean it up and get a good look where it may be coming from.

Of course i love my honda, pulls nowhere near this talon but it looks so damn good. The leak is coming from "the transfer case" if i remember the guy right, he said its worth a shot to buy some 20 dollar gasket or seal or something and it may work. Ill get a pic soon and ask him again where its coming from.

the leak is coming from the shaft the transfer case hooks to. does that help ? besides the leak the tranny is very good.

The Honda->DSM conversion can be a painful one. Mine was (and still is). Car is a lot of fun to drive, though, couldn't say that about the Accord. And you learn so much when your car is broken and you can't afford to pay somebody to fix it, because the best way to learn is to just jump in and do it yourself.

once you get the car go to your local dealership and give them the TSB# listed and ask them to fix the problem, as you have just purchased the car and dont believe it has been brought in for this repair.

TSB# - SR-98-002R2
DATE - SEP 98
Recall - Transfer Case Inspection and Repair
Description - http://www.tmo.com/today/faqs/xferleak.htm

Thats good its just the transfer case.....if the dealer will no do the recall I believe you can change the seal yourself????? but either way usually you can find a transfer case for around $150 or so....

but seriously...you should have another car to drive around, this one will leave you stranded!
