early 2g's do, the 99 got the 3rd revision of lifters which ended it once and for all

What weight oil do you use? I have found that some people run too heavy of oil. Thinner oil will fill the lifters faster, so that are less likely to tick.

10w30 is the stock recommended weight not 20w50. 20w50 is recommended by old school domestic racers that have engines with allot looser tolerances than modern engines like the 4g63
