torn in between the two
are you wanting to know what is better from a chassis stand point?
The s2k had two different engines, not to mention all of the crazy stuff you can do to those motors to make more power. They can do 300 whp NA just swapping around stock honda parts. The rx8 drives like it is underpowered, even with some upgrades. The s2k has a very nimble feel to it.
from a chassis stand point, the s2k, even though it is a roadster, is pretty solid. It is going to be a little more difficult to do a roll cage, unless you don't care about the bars being out everywhere. The Rx8, I've heard mixed reviews. Some say the chassis flexes way too much, others say it is responsive. I've found it just drives like a bigger car.
My 2 cents, i you want to go fast, then why don't you buy a little bit older car, like the rx7, and spend the extra money on building that up.
I think you asked too vague of a question to get a good answer, other than do your research...

or whatever the hell your name is, I dont believe what you said that "they dont let you test drive cars there". thats bullshit. I worked for Carmax for 5.5 years. Ask Landon on this thread. He must have test drove 10 cars with me on several diffrent ocassions. Carmax DOES not turn down anyone from test driving any cars at any point. if you are 18 and want to drive a fucking z06 you are more than welcome to! Oh and by the way Landon did drive a rx-8 and he also drove a s2000 with me. take his advice.

Wow this seems to be a big thing im actually going through the same thing right now.Im torn between the 350z,rx8 and s2000 .But im leaning more towards the rx8 because ive had a rx7 and its was hands down the most fun ive ever had in a car and now i drive a honda haha the main factor for me is gas milage right now with it going up but im going today to test drive them and price them out and get all the stats.Rotary FTW tho and anyone who says they are unrealiable either has never had one or when they did they didnt know what they had my 7 was well taken care of and i really didnt have any problems with it.

Ive spent enough money on one rotary that I could own 3 rotarys, and ive never half assed anything, took my car to the best possible shop, and treated it like a god yet this car consistently takes dumps on me. Theres no doubt the rotary is unreliable its whether or not you can afford to constantly fix it, or fix it yourself.

the most problematic car I have ever owned was a 96 Honda Accord Anniversary Edition: the transmission blew (my last autotragic tranmission ever), went thru 3 sets of brake rotors, front bumper just fell off one day. the damn car had less than 75K miles on it when I gladly got rid of it

Its true it can happen to any car, and I love the rotary but theres no denying its less reliable.
