fd questions....help im a noob
so is it worth it to buy an fd? i mean i love them and all but if its just a continuous project than wtf? i dont always wanna be fixing things. im not trying to build a street monster just a nice dd that has some go.
Your call. You have to know alot about them man. I have had mine and just about anything that could go wrong has gone wrong and I know quiet a bit about rotaries. At this point, I love rotaries and always will. However I want a little bit more reliablilty and alot more go, so I'm going LS1. I can be sure my car will almost always start.
If your looking for a rotary that has some power go with a turbo FC. They are a little more relighable then a FD is, and cheaper upkeep. Although you will have a upkeep.

Yeah if you are going to buy a FD cause its rotary an dyou like the style and performance.Keep it with a 13B.If you are a true rotor head and want more power. You can always do work internally with bolt ons,or just go with a 20B.
But it all cost money.
If you are looking for something to throw a LS1 in,get a 85 Iroc.I pratically had a guy tring to give me one free a while back.
If you dont know the basics of a rotary.A FD is the wrong car to begin with,Unless you have the money and paintence. It can get expensive. Most FD owners dont do thier own work.Therefor shops like Mazsport rapes them on labor.

First off if I wanted an Iroc I would have bought one and grown a mullet.I love the RX7 but hate the rotary reliability. They make great power ,just not for long. You cant touch the LS1 for reliability, gas milage and it starts every day and does not throw off weight distribution as most think. But just like the rotary the LS1 is not for everyone, but you will spend more time and money on the rotary in the long run.Not to mention well over 400hp with just a cam and headers.Leo stop trying to convert everyone,we still have somewhat unique cars.

i personally would not put a V8 in my seven unless i was gonna make it an all out drag car not b/c of the weight bull crap or anything like that its just easier for a v8 to be a drag car then a rotary..But since im not and love my lil PIA motor i will keep it in there..
But pretty much its all about what you want what your goals are and how much money you have..I have seen this "V8 sux" no "rotarys sux" to much..So to each his own....
