What engine should I get?
Okay i read the first couple of posts and i saw there was some cunfusion with the stock motor and the klze. first of all the stock motor is rated at 165 hp and you definatly do not get that to the wheels but the klze puts is rated at 200 hp and the different pistons instead of 9:1 compression the klze comes with 10:1 compressions pistons, bigger intake manifold, bigger intake ports in the cylinder head with bigger lifters also. the valves are the same while the springs are a little bit weaker. and as far as that stuff there is some differences in the VAF,EGR system and the ECU. i have the klze and im running on the stock a-spec ECU and the car is bad ass! i run a 14.22 at the track and im running with nuthing but a cheap short ram e-bay intake and exhaust tip on 87 gas. and its a much bigger imporovment from the stock kL motor! any questions...feel free to PM me i also have a klze for sale..or klze chip...or intake manifold........sorry im very quickly running through this reply...i will be back later to check for errors.
Wow this is sad the only thing half way right was stated above byGTZE94 And yes the KLZE is the only option you have to just drop in bolt up and be happy with. Other than that theres the KL03, KFZE, K8 and K8ZE and all would really be a downgrade from your stock motor. Now on the KLZE theres 2 diff ones. KL31 and KL37 both identical motors but diff. IM/s ones straight neck and the others curver almost like a millenia and for you having a probe you want to get the one with the straight neck mani b/c your abs is in the way and its just alot easyer to do it that way. Now heres a list of motors that WILL NOT fit in your car rotory motors and millenia S 2.3l, they both have been tryed to fit and not a chance in hell will it work. Also for the klze to run right you will need the JE50 VAF out of the mx-3 v6 (i happen to have 4 of them right now) and use the mx3 ecu with the proberator chip it has been the best fuel/timing setup ive seen over the KL31 ecu . turbo is another story on a stock KLDE you can produce around 300hp 300tq with know prob at all just you have to know what to do with tuning and such Also theres only one accual bolt on kit for probeaddiction.com but other than that you will have to custom make the kit and hot pipes wich u have to mod your crossmember and use millenia S injectors to compensate for fuel (stock 220cc
& Millenia S 360cc
) just to add that in there. All i can say is its not a honda and takes a lot more knowledge so take respect in it when trying to mod these motors. Im currently working on a turbo KL motor /w custom rods and pistions bored 0.40 over . in my mx3 shooting for 300 + DD
