2.4l ford contour svt engine is also a great option....if you can find one. I am having the same dilema but I have a 626. I can't buy an engine till may cause i owe my dad a few dollars for repairs on my current car(1400 dollars)

but any engine is an up grade cause i have the 2.0 dohc i4

Why not just spend that money that you have for a new engine, and build the one you have now?

I'm guessing it's a FS20-DE that you have right?

You can re-build it with some forged internals and boost it.

If you need any help finding the parts to build it let me know, and I'll show you some places to find what your looking for.

Thats exactly my thoughts. Instead of swapping engines, spend that money to build it and boost it.

KLZE is definately the way to go. fairly headache free swap. Its just the JDM version of the KL03 pumpin out 200 horses verses KL03's 164. If I had the money id drop one into my mx6.

oh yeah one more thing. Although the HP jump is only 36, there are a few more aftermarket performance parts available after the swap then with the KL03. and its easy to up your horsepower once you do it. however, these parts are very $$$. beware of corksport.com if you do the swap. they rape you on prices, shop around.

Whats the big difference between the KLZE compared to the KL03? Is it just the intake manifold or are the internals different? Whats up?

Read this link.

Basically the ZE gets more horsepower by having higher compression (10:1 vs 9.2:1), so if you want to boost it stick with your stock engine or even better build it.

So I guess that Im not going to get a ZE motor,I think that I want to boost. So should I twin or singe turbo? Whats the difference other than the obvious (2 turbos)?
