its not so much the material (although it is good cast), its the design of the piston (thicker ringlands primarily) that allow stock pistons on such motors to take the beatings they do...supras just dont count...

 

before we get mislead and info gets changed around do you have dyno sheets to prove your HP theory?

YOU told me personally you was pushing 400 hp..

Yeah all that stuff is great, turbo or not, if you drive a convertable miata your still gay.

 

Miata's can be badass little car's but $26,500 for the mazdaspeed miata is crazy.you can buy a used miata like a '02 miata with a hardtop for like $11,500 or buy one that is older then that for cheaper then that. then turbo it for another $5,000 then spend some cash on engine management,internals,transmission,rearend.

and you'll have a way faster miata then the mazdaspeed one.

That would be the better choice then buying the mazdaspeed IMO.but my big ass can't fit in one so i will never be buying one

 

With me having bought this car i think Mazdaspeed is a joke IMHO.

 

the sad thing is this new Miata runs the same 1/4 time as the RX8 (MAZDA top of the line sports car)...very very upsetting.

 

uhh that's not a sad thing i'm glad that Mazda made a car to compete with their "top dog" sport's car.now the people with the Mazdaspeed MX-5 can do some mod's and turn the wick up on their car a little and beat the RX-8.


For $26,500 it better be able to beat something right?

Miatas hold their value VERY well. We were selling 01's soft tops with 40k on them for 14,000 plus. the hard top is like an additional 3k. (new)
