Ford owns controllnig shares of Mazda, cuz Mazda was going under, so Ford saw the opportunity to buy a controlling share of them and also keep them from going under:
all the Mazda Trucks are made in Flatrock Mi... they are the same as Ford trucks. same engines too.

Ford does own all the companies that quickcivic said. Problem is when they go from just owning, and get into operating. Like with the new Land Rover, its a damn Ford Escape aka Mazda tribute. They need to stop using the same platforms throughout their companies. Its pretty gay.
