good honda mechs?
G/f's auto transmission is starting to go in her 91 accord.
need a shop to look at it, someone who actually knows what they're doing, works with transmissions/other shit on the regular (not just oil changes and tire replacements on newer cars)
let me know of any good ones in the area if you know of any. Thanks a ton!
symptoms are: failing to transition shifts from 3rd-4th to 1st from a quick stop. transmission clunking when going from park-reverse-drive. extremely sluggish to shift. erratic shifting (feels like clutch slipping almost? No clutch, it's an auto)
I'm sure there's more but that's a start. I am going to drain and refill trans oil with fresh, good honda ATF. I'm sure she cheaped out at some point and put in some crap from vatozone. We'll see if this helps.
Thanks.

This goes in the honda forum..
my 2 cents:
those cars always have the Solenoids that fail/begin to fail and will give you the issues you mentioned.
they are located {if you are looking at the engine bay from the front} on your right/front ON the tranny. there are 2 solenoids on one bracket and there should be 2 #10's.... Junkyards have these for 10bux, i replaced mine and it was an instant fix.. AGAIN, if THIS is the problem... `could be something else tho
