Ok so I jus got my swap running. It's a gsr with type r pistons, rods and crank. It idles high at like 2 grand then sometimes it will idle high then low. Also it smokes when I gear down or take off from a light, alot like a complete cloud And there is oil leaking out the rear main seal really bad, like almost a quart a day. I'm thinking it's building up pressure and shooting a glob out onto the headers. The motor drives really choppy too. I'm thinking my crank case pressure is off but idk how everything is hooked up right as far as I know. It's hard to tell bc it's open header and I can't see where that puff of smoke is comin from. Could it be blow by or rings bein bad? If anyone has any ideas that would be great. Thankyou!

I got the crazy idle to go away. I had to block off the main hose on the intake mani and leave the box on the block open...weird. that caused the bad smoking to go away too I think. Its runnin likes its off timing or something, I'm throwin code 9 (cyp sensor) so maybe I'm losin a little spark? I'm gonna try another dizzy and see.

 

Sounds like your pcv valve needs replaced they are like 5bucks.

 

check for vacuum leaks as well

 

Someone explain to me how just pistons, rods, and crank make this a Type R motor? I can name at least 10 other things that make it different from every other motor.

^ why dont you just relax and read the post he correctly stated what the motor is. the title got your attention so what would it matter if it was a gsr or type r? you read the post to help a fellow honda owner out didnt you? if not dont post on his stuff complaining just because your butt hurts.
