i wasnt planning on using 24lb lol, the vitara pistons i was going to go with, hold anywhere from 16-20lbs of boost, hopefully i can get that with the mods i was going to use, the head will be built, and i know im going to use forged rods, with the vitara pistons to say the least.

Yeah bro, those Vitara pistons will hold a lot of boost believe it or not, you would be surprised.

yeah, just wondering how much they can really handle 16-20lb doesnt really tell me the most just between, dont want to do a lb or 2 over and be screwed.

you can make 300whp with vitaras , rods and bone stock head with the right setup
if ya run vitaras make sure u get the fj custom rods to take up that extra loss in compresstion running the vitaras
im doing the same build shotting for 300whp

you mean pistons? and tats good to hear on a pretty much stock motor, with built head hopefully get some more flow and more power! How much boost you plan on using?

So much fail in this thread.
PSI doesn't matter, horsepower does.
Stock rods fail somewhere around 220whp (typical tq curve).

You can easily max out a T3/T4 57 trim on a D16.
SpeedFactory was making 420whp on a T3/T04E 57 Trim (.63 a/r) and the Bisi 2.4 (stock Z6 ports)
Vitara's have held 600whp before.
And yes, 400whp has been done on a stock head/cam. Different cam can certainly widen the power band though.

And boosting a D isn't different. It's smart.

is that a bisimoto 2.4 cam? and in my case im not looking to rebuild my motor anytime soon, just dont want to rebuild my motor by putting too much boost to it, if you know what amount of "PSI" can you put thru the pistons til its near the limit, i dont see how it wouldnt matter, because too much boost will put any motor down.

thats what i figured, and i heard about the ls rods, but my power goal is above 300, so they are out of the question.

no psi dont matter its just how much power you build can handle
if you have a small turbo and 20 psi compare to a larger turbo and 20 psi big diffrence in power
