This sucks to hear. Does anyone else think he may need to check his valve springs as he spoke of using a higher compression piston or is the timing belt the only culprit here?

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

Not really its not like he put a bigger set of cams that will hurt his valve train but it doesn't hurt to have them checked out. Be safe than sorry

Thanks for everyones help so far, I will be needing to get a few paypal addy's from a few of yall sometime this week.

rang, im very happy to hear your willing to help, possibly you could look at it for me? You in Tampa? PM a number or address or something. Im trying to figure out prices and what all I will need,

I will be needing new headbolots correct? How much are factory bolts vs ARP's? Trying to save what I can, since its a mild motor. Im thinking of going with a Gates timing belt. Also what about a new belt tensioner??

Here are pics.
Top of valve stem looks smashed

Head pulled off, bleeding

Looks kinda like the valves were too tight. To need to figure out what cams you have a adjust the valves. If rang doesn't help ill help either way it'll be done correctly. He's one of the best around
And arp headstuds are around 130 which are cheaper than OEM from Honda just make sure to get b16 ones because Gsr are slightly longer

Well I did the leakdown test with the cams out so allvalves should have been closed. I have checked the valve last a month before and all was good.
