it still leaks no matter where its mounted...whats the problem with buying a good one? have you ever built a turbo car before? no offense but the questions you are asking are kinda scary for someone going turbo. and why are you using a t28? why not use like a t3 off of a saab or volvo so that you can have a t3 flange in case you want to upgrade later. lol you arent gonna do shit with a t2 flange.

I agree with MightyMax use atleast a t3 turbo, and just to save the headache get a decent bov. Also I am a fan of external gates to me they are a little more reliable. I personally think budget builds are ok as long as you use quality parts.

....and again, please use an OEM head gasket, and ARP head studs if you are feeling froggy.

i'd use a Cometic head gasket. it's worth the money. and you can get them in .030". ARP studs are a must, you can't re-use the stock head bolts, and they are the same cost as a set of head bolts from the dealership.

personally i'd go 9:1. more bottem end power. you only need 8 on a drag car.

i have had countless issues with those things leaking. and yes i brought it to the machine shop to have the head and block trued up, and yes i know the right torque specs and sequences. for this build, there's no reason why he shouldn't go oem.

i agree OEM is good, but it's not better then Cometic. if it was leaking then something wasn't done right. no offense. it may have been a faulty gasket but there are way too many high hp cars out there running Cometics for them to be "bad" gaskets. and personally i've never had a problem with them.
